Nietzsche And The Honor Of Selfishness

Fuck the cops who say they chose to be cops because they only believe in law and order.

Fuck the doctors who say they chose to be doctors because they only care about healing people.

Fuck the politicians who say they chose to be politicians because they only want to better their city, or state.

Fuck the soldiers who say they chose to be soldiers because they only want to defend their country.

Ok Breath, Everyone.

Read those statements again before you start thinking you’re reading anything that denies the value of any of those professions.

Our world needs cops, doctors, politicians, and soldiers.

Anyone who claims otherwise is a fool; and if they are your friends, you should continue to smirk and nod your heads out of politeness and friendship.

…Just don’t lend them any money, or be a partner with them in any business.

Our world needs cops, doctors, politicians, and soldiers.

But a BETTER world needs BETTER cops, doctors, politicians, and soldiers.

“Well define better,” you say.

Well, I don’t have every answer. I’m no prophet.

And none of us know everything.

But I think we can all agree on the idea that people with integrity are people worthy of those honorable professions.

Integrity and Grit are often mistunderstood words.

Grit is a precursor to success because it means a person can take the pitfalls of failure and not be discouraged.

Integrity is a precursor to a better individual because they will never act below their values. They constantly stretch themselves. And yes, they are honest.

So fuck the disingenuous of the previously stated professions and any disingenuous people in general.

Do you really value the “friend” who smiles at you but laughs behind your back?

I hope not.

So should we value the cop who claims he values justice, and yet is a ruthless pig who does whatever he can with the rank he carries?

For every 20 cops who claim justice justice justice, there is one who truly believes that.

For every doctor…

You get the point.

Somewhere along the way we’ve been taught to do this.

To pretend that we have no vices.

To pretend that we’d never change anything about our physical appearance if we could.

To pretend we do not care about money nor rank.

It’s total nonsense.

We all know when we see a bullshitter so don’t be one yourself.

Believe it or not, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH DOCTORS WHO LIKE MONEY.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH COPS NOR POLITICIANS WHO LIKE RANK.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SOLDIER WHO JUST LIKES GUNS.

And if you think there is you’re either a fool, or a liar.

Any doctor who just cares about money can be a perfectly adequate doctor.

Do we really need our doctors to be at the soup kitchen on weekends too?

We want that, but it’s not feasible.

And by demanding more from others without first looking to ourselves, we are being children and cowards.

Get off your fucking Twitter.

Shut up about your fucking neighbor.

Be the change you want to see and if you can’t be there is no shame in that.

But there is shame on those who criticize others while not doing shit themselves.

A better world starts by being able to claim we have lustful thoughts.

By being able to claim we hunger for more than we have currently.

Now. Reread those last two again.

Claim. Claim. Claim.

Not.

Do. Do. Do.

So the person with integrity is one who can admit he wants to cheat on his wife, but doesn’t.

If you want a better house or car, work for it.

And like I wrote before, you do not have to be amibitous to be a person of character and honor in this world.

You choose where you want to direct your energies.

Just don’t be that “friend” who smiles and talks behind someone’s back.

Regards,

Jeff
